who is Nesssacessity?
When I was a kid, my favorite books were Catwings by Ursula Le Guin and Sideways Stories from Wayside School by Louis Sachar. My current list is probably not much more mature. I enjoy Fantasy and Science Fiction. I do also like the occasional Historical Fiction or Psychological Fiction, and sometimes I am brave enough to throw in a Horror (but only if its a sunny day, I am not alone in the house, and I pair it with some Tom and Jerry cartoons later).
How did I get started? Well, I have an copyediting certificate through San Diego Extension University which I completed in 2013. I didn't do much with it until 2021 when I met an author. A real live one! In person and everything. That author was Matthew Cesca. He entrusted me with his world in his Forbidden Scrolls trilogy and I am forever thankful for that experience. With that said, I have been especially interested in working with independent (indie) authors ever since.
Reading a book is like going on a foray through the author's mind by visiting the worlds and characters they created. Authors spend years, decades even, putting life into their ideas, and after that much time, I am the fresh set of eyes that can get it as close to their dream as possible. It is very rewarding knowing I can give the final facelift before a book gets released into the wild. I see the efforts they take to make their story shine; it is not an easy process, and I hope I can be some help to their journey.
